September has nearly come to a close, and Qore Episode 5 is nearly upon us. We've got the details on the latest episode right here.

As the October issue, Qore will celebrate Halloween with the theme "The Monsters of Gaming," which will debut brand new footage of Fallout 3, Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space. October also represents the approach of colder weather. In that spirit, Qore headed out to Park City, Utah to check out the PS3 version of Shaun White Snowboarding.

As always, the episode will feature an assortment of mini-games and downloadable content, though what form they will take has yet to be specified. Stay tuned for more Qore coverage on PSU.

UPDATE: IGN has reported that purchasers of Qore Episode 5 will get their hands on an early demo of SEGA's Valkyria Chronicles.

Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe on the verge of a great war. The game follows Welkin, a heroic commander who leads his small platoon against two neighbouring enemy nations on the brink of war. In the game, you customise and level-up characters to configure your perfect platoon for each battle. The game's sweeping storyline will appeal to Final Fantasy and JRPG fans, while fantastic reimagined WW2 technology and fast-pacing will captures action gamers.

    PTOM (Playstation The Official Magazine) has given away codes each month for free Qore episodes since Qore's launch. While I think this is cool and very kind of them, I'm one of the people who paid $24.99 for an annual subscription. I'm starting to wonder if I should have now. Can't wait to see what else they will offer.

    Well #2 you can rest assured that PTOM has payed for these subscriptions just like you in one way or the other! If they decide to hand them over as a gift..that is up to them.

    sorry little, i have worked in a store before and delt with all the magazine distibuters and they will tell you strait up the magazines cost nothing to make and it really doesn't matter if someone buys them or not because they are pretty much compleatly paid for by the sponcers. So no, ptom didn't pay for any of the codes, how the code is paid for is when someone buys the issue of ptom or subscribes to it. Also, they r both official playstation product magazines, in essences both of the same entity, only one is an actual magazine and the other is a virtual hd magazine. As a mater of fact, i beleive thats what they even called it in qore's first episode. So i doubt that they would charge the same company for the codes.

    Why didn't you include the information about a Valkyria Chronicles demo in Qore?

    awesome i'll definitely be getting this, i think qore has been worth the money so far it offers roughly the same amount of content as a magazine but it has video and its in HD plus its only $3 per episode, i really want to try out valkyria chronicles it sounds really fun and alot of the previews are saying its really cool, i hope more people pay attention to it, as it seems like a valuable exclusive

    @2

    I was going to get a subscription to PTOM the day before I heard about Qore, but got Qore instead.  So it's kind of the same thing, man.  Either paper mag or video mag.  The only thing Qore doesn't have is reviews (but you can never trust reviews in an official mag anyway).  If there's someone out there that has both?  Well then, they're getting ripped off.  No one needs Qore and The Official Magazine.

    #2 and #3

    Qore is created and owned by Future publishing. I'll give you only 1 guess as to who the publishers of PTOM are.

    I can barely afford all the sweet PS3 games, so even a cheap annual subscrip isn't worth it to me, besides VC will be out in less than 2 months and I've got games to play to pass the time. Still, the waiting for RPG awesomeness is interminable these days. I wonder if they are hurting for Qore subscrips, cuz they keep adding all this cool stuff only for subscribers, Itll be nice if we get the demo free on PSN a little later on.
